Mrs. Szczerba’s and Mrs. Pacicca’s classes were busy using STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) in their classroom last week to build the three little pigs’ houses. The students were given a variety of supplies to build with such as pipe cleaners, marshmallows, toothpicks, gumdrops foam, string, cotton balls, pompoms, etc. The students were allowed to pick whatever they wanted to try to build a house that would stand up against the big bad wolf. The wolf was a 1500 watt blow-dryer cleverly disguised as a wolf! The children enjoyed seeing the Big Bad Wolf as it huffed and puffed and puffed and huffed, but in the end it couldn’t blow many of the students’ houses!
