  • STEAM in Kindergarten

Mrs. Szczerba’s and Mrs. Pacicca’s classes were busy using STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) in their classroom last week to build the three little pigs’ houses. The students were given a variety of supplies to build with such as pipe cleaners, marshmallows, toothpicks, gumdrops foam, string, cotton balls, pompoms, etc. The students were allowed to pick whatever they wanted to try to build a house that would stand up against the big bad wolf. The wolf was a 1500 watt blow-dryer cleverly disguised as a wolf! The children enjoyed seeing the Big Bad Wolf as it huffed and puffed and puffed and huffed, but in the end it couldn’t blow many of the students’ houses! 

Principal's Message

 Principal Asst Principal
Dear Bellamy Families,
What a great first week we had!  We are so excited to get started again!  It was so nice to see familiar faces as well as new students in our building.  This year, we also have some new staff members throughout the building.
We are getting ready to start our school wide reading program.  We are a "school" of readers.  Please keep your eyes open for information to come home at the end of the month.
Every minute counts!  We are looking forward to having your child in school and on time every day so they have every possible minute to learn!
This year we will be sending monthly newsletters home and updating on our Facebook/Twitter/Website with any information.
Please do not hesitate to call when you have positive news and/or if you have questions or concerns.
Thank you,
Mrs. Opperman                                                                                 Mrs. Vergis
