A Living Wax Museum

Mrs. O'Meara's and Ms. King's second grade classes presented "A Living Wax Museum of Presidents and First Ladies" on June 18, 2009.  Parents, staff and students were welcomed by Barach Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, portrayed by two second grade students.  Thirty-six students researched, wrote speeches and made self portraits of selected presidents and their wives for a culminating presentation.  This co-curricular project involved the help of many teachers, teacher assistants and other staff members at Ridge Mills.

Friendship Assembly and Walk

Students and staff paid tribute to friendship on Friday, May 1st with an assembly and walk.  Classes performed for each other expressing friendship through song, cheers, handshakes and posters.  The school recognized April as "Autism Awareness Month" and celebrated the ways we are all alike and different.  Students were each given "friendship seeds"  to plant in designated areas around the walking trail. Each student received a "Certificate of Participation" and PTG provided popsicles.
