School-Based Health Center Survey

The district is looking for input from parents and guardians on whether our families need a school-based health center.

School-based health centers are a federally-funded program that places medical, dental, vision and mental health care providers in schools to provide services to students without access to primary health care. In order to determine if Rome is a good candidate for a school-based health center, families across the district are asked to complete a survey by Dec. 31.

The Utica, Syracuse and Watertown school districts are among those that already have established centers in schools. School-based health centers are run in cooperation with a community health center; Rome’s would be affiliated with Rome Memorial Hospital.

The survey is available online here, and all parents and guardian from the Rome district are encouraged to complete it.
