Holiday Pops Concert & Art GalleryThe Rome City School District’s Music and Arts Department are presenting their annual faculty showcase at Rome Free Academy on November 22nd 2019. This has been an annual event since 2015. Music and art teachers come together to present their artwork and holiday music for your entertainment. Admission is free and monetary donations can be made to the Rome Community Foundation. Instrument donations will also be accepted. The art gallery will be opening at 6pm and concert starting at 7pm.

In addition to providing an evening of entertainment, the Rome educators would like the community to be a part of the bonding nature of music and art. The objective of this showcase is to show students practical application of music making in adulthood. At its peak, making music and art can be a socially bonding and self-fulfilling lifetime activity. The music department has been recognized as a NAMM Best Communities for Music Education in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. Music students have represented our district at All-County, Area-All State, Conference All-State, All-Eastern, All-National, NYSSMA Majors, NYSSMA solo festivals. Our art students have represented our district in the Doodle for Google graphics design contest, Rome Art and Community Center, Artistree art gallery, Rome City Hall, Willett Center, and Sangertown Square art exhibit.
