RFA Students Earn NYS Seal of Biliteracy
Posted on 06/01/2020

On Wednesday, May 27, Rome Free Academy had five students present in various languages in order to earn the New York State Seal of Biliteracy, which acknowledges their high level of proficiency in English and a world language. By awarding the NYS Seal of Biliteracy, Rome City School District celebrates students who have multilingual competence, which is a critical skill in today’s global society.

We are pleased to announce that Dajhana Cueva-Gomez (Spanish), Abigail Minicozzi (Spanish), Amro Mugalli (Arabic), Reilly O'Shaughnessy (Spanish), and Alex Zappavigna (French) have achieved this high honor.

Thank you to our administration staff members, and families who have supported our students in this great endeavor. None of this would have been possible without all of you! Congratulations to our first cohort of Seal of Biliteracy students!
