Music Therapy Program Strikes a Chord with Supported Learning Students

Over the summer, students at Bellamy and RFA schools participated in the KEYS program led by Instructor Blake Propst. The program incorporated hands-on musical activities, allowing students to create rhythms, learn about various instruments, and enjoy interactive experiences.

Specialized music initiatives like these can benefit children with special needs by aiding emotional expression, sensory stimulation, social interaction, motor skills, anxiety reduction, and focus improvement.

Dana Ely, the director of supported learning summer school, praised the program for its positive impact. The KEYS program's funding comes from a grant and the RCSD.
