RFA students from Mrs. Benoit’s ceramics class collaborated with students from Jessica Hart’s art classes at Denti Elementary. “The second and fourth graders at Denti drew monsters, and my ceramics classes at RFA brought those imaginative creations to life using clay,” said Benoit. Eager to undertake this project for a while, Mrs. Benoit saw an excellent opportunity to team up with Jessica Hart, whom she admires for her work at Denti.
“Our inspiration came from the book ‘Are You My Monster’ by Amanda Noll, which involves providing character descriptions and matching them to corresponding monsters. To enhance the creativity of the elementary students, my high school students came up with 4/5 drawing prompts. Once the drawings were complete, my ceramics classes skillfully crafted the monsters out of clay and glazed them to perfection,” said Benoit.
