Staff Spotlight for Wednesday, January 31 – Michael Giardino

Michael Giardino. Social Studies Teacher at Strough Middle School

How long have you worked in RCSD?
Three years

What do you like most about your job?
I enjoy the opportunity I have been given to enlighten students about our nation and local history. Teaching social studies provides a great platform for meaningful conversations with students about the major controversies and issues within our nation and our local communities and for laying the foundation for future generations to make informed decisions regarding these issues. In addition, I am grateful to be in a profession that is premised upon building relationships and to have so many colleagues who are very helpful and supportive!

What inspires you?
I am inspired by the people who, despite knowing what they're going through or how they feel, get up, show up, and never give up.

What is a fun fact about you?
I have two mini dachshunds named Skippy and Reuben (the latter is named after my favorite type of sandwich).
