Ashley Giesse OT

Miss Ashley not only assists my daughter in improving her fine motor skills, but she also went out of her way to assist my daughter in acclimating with her transition from home full time to school. Miss Ashley worked with my daughter over the summer as well, and she built a relationship with my daughter allowing my daughter - who does not typically trust other adults - to trust her. We are so thankful for Miss Ashley, “The Fine Motor Promoter,” said Kayla Greene, who nominated Ashley.

How long have you worked in the RCSD?

This is my 4th year working in RCSD pre-k (I was contracted through another agency), but my first year as an official RCSD employee.

What do you like most about your job?

I love the variety in what I can do each day to make therapy fun. The kids always make me laugh, and I love to see them grow and progress! I’m so lucky to work with a great team and to learn new things from them all the time.

What inspires you?

I’ve always loved finding what makes people unique. I love discovering kids’ interests and strengths and using those to individualize their therapies!

What is a fun fact about you?

I love traveling to different islands in the Caribbean - so much so that my fiancé and I are getting married in the Cayman Islands this August!
