Strough Middle School proudly recognized 68 students who exemplify the school's core values during its annual BRAVE Knight Award Ceremony. The event, held on May 20, celebrated students who consistently demonstrated positive character, leadership, and citizenship throughout the school year.

The BRAVE Knight Award is part of Strough Middle School's implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), a school-wide framework designed to promote positive behavior, create a supportive learning environment, and recognize students who consistently meet school expectations.

The award is based on the school's BRAVE expectations:

● Believer – Being confident and embracing challenges.

● Respectful – Being kind to others and demonstrating appropriate behavior at all times.

● Accountable – Following expectations and taking responsibility for one's actions.

● Valuable – Positively contributing to the school community.

● Encouraging – Serving as a positive role model for peers.

Throughout the year, teachers and staff members nominate students who exemplify one or more of these characteristics in their daily interactions, classroom participation, and contributions to the school community. During the ceremony, each recipient was presented with a BRAVE Knight Award certificate and recognized for their efforts in front of peers, faculty, and family members.

The ceremony highlighted the important role PBIS plays in creating a positive school culture. By recognizing students who demonstrate the BRAVE expectations, Strough Middle School continues to encourage a safe, respectful, and supportive environment where all students can succeed.
