The Rome City School District (CSD) continues its Rome is Home: Progress in Action series by highlighting ongoing efforts under Pillar 3 of its Strategic Plan, Empower Success Through Access and Support, and the district’s commitment to strengthening leadership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
The district believes that strong schools begin with strong leaders. To support this belief, Rome CSD has continued to build systems that provide principals, district leaders, assistant principals, and deans with opportunities for professional growth, collaboration, and reflection.
Over the past year, the district implemented coaching supports for building principals and district leaders designed to strengthen leadership practices, provide opportunities for problem-solving, and support organizational growth.
The district also established quarterly meetings with the Deans and Assistant Principals group to encourage collaboration, discuss district priorities, and create opportunities for professional learning. These meetings provide leaders with space to share ideas, reflect on their practice, and discuss their professional goals and aspirations with Superintendent Nerlande Anselme.
“These efforts are about investing in the people who support our students every day,” said Superintendent Anselme. “When we provide leaders with opportunities to learn, collaborate, and grow, we strengthen our schools and create a stronger foundation for student success.”
The district’s leadership development efforts reflect its broader commitment to creating a culture of continuous improvement where all members of the school community have opportunities to grow and contribute.
“Rome is Home: Progress in Action” is a continuing series highlighting measurable accomplishments, strategic initiatives, and our commitment to continuous improvement for every student.
Future updates will highlight additional areas of district progress, including student supports, safety and wellness initiatives, community partnerships, and operational excellence.
