NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING AND COMMENT PERIOD OCTOBER 5, 2026

Adoption of Code of Conduct for the 2026-2027 School Year and Naming of the Stokes Elementary Gymnasium

Notice is hereby given of the intention of the Rome City School District Board of Education to hold a public hearing on the adoption of the 2026-2027 Code of Conduct and proposed Naming of the Stokes Elementary Gymnasium after a former student. This public hearing will be held after the 30-day public comment period has ended for the Code of Conduct and proposed Naming of the Stokes Elementary Gymnasium after a former student.

The public hearing will be held at 5:15 pm, 15 minutes before the regularly scheduled Board Meeting at 5:30 pm on October 5, 2026, at 409 Bell Road, Rome, NY 13440.

The draft of the Code of Conduct can be found on our website here, from September 4, 2026 to October 5, 2026. During that 30-day period, any comments can be sent to the School District Clerk, Sandy Russell, by October 5, 2026 at sarussell@romecsd.org or 315-338-6521.
