Dear Rome City School District Staff and Families,
As you may be aware, the Vice President will be visiting the Rome area, which is expected to result in increased traffic, particularly around the Griffiss Business and Technology Park. We want to assure you that the District has been actively preparing and coordinating with local and state agencies to minimize any potential impact on our schools and transportation services.
All schools will be open and operate on their regular schedules on Monday, November 2. Our District and Transportation teams are prepared for increased traffic and potential delays and have made the necessary arrangements to support the safe and efficient operation of our schools.
While we anticipate increased traffic and possible delays, particularly around Rome Free Academy (RFA) and Clough, we expect this to be a well-managed event and do not anticipate significant disruptions to the school day. We will continue to monitor the situation and coordinate with our local and state partners as needed.
Staff and families at RFA and Clough will receive additional, building-specific information in Sunday’s e-news communications from their respective interim principals, Mrs. Kristie Boisen (RFA) and Mrs. Nancy Opperman (Clough).
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Please know that our District teams have been proactive in their planning, and we are prepared to welcome our students and staff for a regular day of school.
Thank you for your continued support.
