Robyn Thompson Nationally Recognized

We are proud to announce that RFA senior Robyn Thompson has been recognized by The Alliance for Young Artists & Writers as a National Winner in the 2026 Scholastic Awards.

This year, more than 110,000 students submitted nearly 340,000 original works of art and writing to the 2026 Scholastic Awards. Robyn's piece, titled “A Dirge for Dried Flowers,” was selected by esteemed leaders in the visual and literary arts for its excellence in originality, skill, and the emergence of a personal voice or vision.

Since 1923, the Scholastic Awards have celebrated teen artists and writers from across the nation. Robyn is now part of this prestigious legacy, joining the ranks of notable alumni such as Tschabalala Self, Stephen King, Kay WalkingStick, Charles White, Joyce Carol Oates, and Andy Warhol—all of whom were Scholastic Awards winners in their youth.

Robyn's work will be featured in the Alliance's online galleries at artandwriting.org. Additionally, her name will be listed in Yearbook 2026, a companion to the annual art and writing anthologies that feature selections of works by National Medalists.
