Welcome to the Rome City School District Security Unit
Our mission is to ensure the safety and security of all students, staff, and guests in the district. We welcome and interact with students and the community on a daily basis. We take pride in our role as security officers. Our duties include helping students find classes and lost materials, chaperoning trips, assisting with locker issues, conflict resolution with other students and with family members, and even providing a shoulder to cry on.
We assist administrators, school resource officers, and probation officers resolve conflicts through mediation involving guidance counselors, Insight House, Safe Schools Healthy Students personnel, SPFY workers and psychologists.
All buildings in the district are equipped with camera and card reader systems to help ensure the safety of our children and limit access to our buildings. We have added a background check system at RFA and will soon be adding it at Strough. We're here to help make your experience with the Rome City School District enjoyable.
