How long have you worked in the RCSD?
24 years

What do you like most about your job?
Working as an elementary school teacher can be a rewarding and fulfilling experience for various reasons. Some of the best aspects of my job is that I have a significant impact on the lives of my students. We play a crucial role in shaping a child’s academic, social, and emotional development. I get to contribute to laying the foundation for essential skills such as reading, writing, math, and critical thinking. I help students develop a love for learning that can last a lifetime. I love finding engaging ways to present information and making learning enjoyable and effective. I also get to form strong connections with my students. The relationships built during these formative years can be incredibly meaningful and can have a lasting impact. Witnessing the growth and progress of students is one of the most rewarding aspects. Celebrating achievements, big and small, gives a sense of accomplishment for both the teacher and the students.

What inspires you?
As an elementary school teacher, I find great inspiration in observing the daily curiosity, growth, and enthusiasm for learning that my students display. Their eagerness fuels my passion for education.

What is a fun fact about you?
I coached four different sports for RFA. It was an incredible journey, and I loved every minute of it. I am a huge sports fan. My evenings and weekends are dedicated to one of my favorite pastimes: cheering on my amazing kids. Whether it’s ice hockey, baseball, softball, or field hockey, you’ll find me on the sidelines, proudly supporting every player and celebrating their victories.
