Champion crowned! Congratulations to Rome Free Academy junior Rachel O’Rourke on winning the 2026 NYS High School Federation Girls Golf Championship!
O’Rourke captured the title after shooting a one-over-par 71 while competing at Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale, NY, on Sunday. Her excellent performance included being even after nine and carding a pair of birdies on holes 9 and 18.
The championship comes after O’Rourke also captured the NYSPHSAA Section III Girls Golf individual title and placed second at the NYSPHSAA Girls Golf Championships.
