Jason Nowicki

Head Coach Jason Nowicki is entering his 14th year with the Black Knights and his 9th year as Head Coach. Coach Nowicki was named as the Division 1 National Conference “Coach of the Year” for Section III Ice Hockey during the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 seasons. He has led the RFA Hockey Team to the Section III playoffs in each of his seasons as head coach. A native Roman, Nowicki played for the RFA Hockey team from 2003 to 2007 and served as the team captain his senior year. He also played football and was selected as a 1st Team, Section III all- star as team captain of the Black Knights baseball team. Nowicki was a member of the Henry P. Smith Post baseball team from 2006 to 2008, leading his team to 3 state tournament appearances. He was a key contributor for the 2007 and 2008 NYS American Legion State Finalist teams. He was selected as an Oneida County American Legion all-star in each of his three seasons. After high school, Nowicki attended Marist College and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science. He is also a proud graduate of LeMoyne College Masters of Science for Teachers program and is employed as a Living Environment teacher at Rome Free Academy.  Nowicki lives in Rome with his wife Melissa and sons, Cameron and Jackson.
