Congratulations to Rome Free Academy senior Jacob Bruno on being named the Section III Boys Hockey Division I Player of the Year!

A team co-captain, Bruno guided the Black Knights to a 16-3-1 record and a trip to the sectional playoff semifinals. He led all of Section III with 65 points and 44 assists, to go along with 21 goals.

“Jacob has been the heart and soul of our hockey team for the last four years,” said RFA boys hockey head coach, Jason Nowicki. “He is an intense leader on and off the ice that demands the most from others around him. His top-end speed, coupled with his elite playmaking and unquestioned work ethic, have earned him the honor of being named Section III Division I Player of the Year. Off the ice, Jacob is an excellent student and outstanding role model in our community. He has an extremely bright future ahead of him.
