“Mr. Romeo is my geometry teacher and he is one of my favorite teachers of all time. He is super caring and helps any student if they struggle. He makes free time for his students (including me) to take quizzes and to get help with a subject, unit, or homework. He does a math joke of the day to lighten the moods of all of his students and even considers our emotions with an octopus plushie which I think is cool. He is one of the most supportive, helpful, kindest, and funniest teachers,” said RFA Student, Trinity Ahrens, who nominated Romeo.

How long have you worked in the RCSD?
I started at Strough in February 2014, then moved up to RFA the following September. So, this is going to be my 9th year in the District.
What do you like most about your job?
I really enjoy when a student finally understands a concept they may have been struggling with, and then you finally see it “click.” Their face lights up and you can tell they are excited because they finally understand the problem that has been causing them some degree of stress.
What inspires you?
My 5th grade Math Teacher is the one who inspired me to go into teaching and more specifically math. In his class we not only learned the concepts of what he was teaching, but also a love for learning and math itself. We competed in games such as math basketball/math football where we had to work as a team and know our multiplication facts fast, as well as having a small amount of athleticism. We were competitive and competed vs the other classes and the winning class got a trophy and bragging rights for the rest of the year. As a competitive individual this made me WANT to come to school and learn the material not just for myself but for the rest of my team, just so we could win and beat out the other classes/teams. Before that class I did not really enjoy school and just came in every day and did my work, but did not put forth much effort. It was after that class that I really started to enjoy education and put forth more effort in all of my classes.
What is a fun fact about you?
I am one of the Wrestling Coaches at the High School, as well as one of the Student Council Advisors (STASS) and Rugby Club Advisors.
